What is Dry Needling?
What is dry needling and how can it help your pet?
Dry needling is a technique often confused with acupuncture. Dry needling differs from acupuncture in the fact that you are placing the needle in an area of the muscle that is tight or spasming- aka a "trigger point". Dry needling typically follows a more western medicine approach. Acupuncture follows meridians for needle placement and is highly based on Eastern Medicine.

Dry needling is commonly performed by human physical therapists to help aid in relaxation of the trigger point, which in turn helps reduce pain, decrease inflammation, increase blood flow and relax the muscle.

Dr. Webster uses dry needling when appropriate in conjunction with chiropractic work to help bring a well rounded approach to your animals care.

K-Tape has had an impact in the human world and is now starting to trickle into the animal world. This method of treatment involves using a flexible tape that is applied to the animal over the affected area. The benefits of K-tape include improved circulation, decreased pain and improved movement. This is why K-tape and chiropractic can work very well together. This is a very safe method of treatment and one that can be taught to owners to help them keep their animals feeling their best.
